Smoke alarms save lives – but only when they are working. Every year in Australia more than 3,000 people are injured and many lives lost in house fires. Smoke Alarm Awareness Week (20-26 July, 2015) will help save Australian lives.
Smoke Alarm Awareness Week aims to raise public awareness about the importance of working smoke alarms, checking and testing them monthly and replacing them when they reach their expiry date.
Easter is your yearly reminder to replace the batteries in your smoke alarms; and remember that smoke alarms should be replaced every 10 years.
